The Highfield Level 2 Award in First Aid at Work (RQF) Training Course is designed is to allow learners to develop their knowledge and skills in basic life support to meet the needs of their role in work, or another setting. It is recommended for first-aiders in the workplace environment who have access to a defibrillator.
The main topics covered on the Basic Life Support and Safe Use of an Automated External Defibrillator Course include how to manage an unresponsive casualty who is breathing normally, how to manage an unresponsive casualty who is not breathing normally, and safe use of an automated external defibrillator.
The Basic Life Support and Safe Use of an Automated External Defibrillator Course runs over 5 hours and is divided into 3 units:
Unit 1: How to Manage an Unresponsive Casualty
Unit 2: Safe Use of an AED
Unit 3: Combining CPR with AED Use
The Highfield Level 2 Award in Basic Life Support and Safe Use of an Automated External Defibrillator Course qualification is assessed by a practical demonstration and a multiple-choice theory test.

Completing & passing the Highfield Level 2 Award in Basic Life Support and Safe Use of an Automated External Defibrillator Course, will results in a RQF Level 2 Qualification with a certificate which is valid for 3 years.
